Team Working 8 Indicators That Your Team Is Not Working

Most likely, we have been members of teams that have had an enormous success, and teams that failed. I’m sure I’ve been part of. If you’re in charge of your unit, which are the signs to be looking for which could suggest that your team isn’t performing or working at its potential?

Indicator 1: Nobody Trusts Anyone

Trust is a fundamental element of a team, little like the foundations of the house. Building trust requires a significant amount of effort, time and effort. It can feel like a struggle, and it often is. However it is important to establish and keep trust, you’re likely to see sub-par outcomes.

Indicator 2: People Are Working In Isolation

One reason why teams succeed is that there is a great deal of dependability on each other to produce the desired outcome or result. Sometimes, teams are formed in situations where there is no need to form a team in the first place. Individuals working on their own rather than working together means that there’s either an issue within the group or there isn’t any need to form a team in the first place to achieve the outcome you want.

Indicator 3: Individuals Aren’t Held Responsible

Accountability is among the areas where it is frequently ignored. I believe that being accountable is all about setting expectations with your team and then giving them the opportunity to be accountable for the results they’ve achieved. Sometimes, leaders do a fantastic job of setting expectations, but do less well of executing.

 Indicator 4: Decision Making is slow or non-existent

To reap the benefits from a team, actions have to be taken, and then those decisions implemented. A lot of times, particularly in teams with higher levels of seniority in larger organizations, employees are slow to take decisions or, more importantly they avoid taking any decisions.

Indicator 5: No One Is Listening

Communication is clearly an essential component of teamwork. My experience has been that team members excel of writing and speaking. Listening, however, is much less consistent and more of a struggle. However, it’s listening that could bring the most benefits from team work.

Indicator 6: Speech that is Free is Disabled

Sometimes, things that happen to teams have to be discussed and put out in the public. It is commonplace for teams to in order to avoid conflicts, people are either intimidated or forced to keep their mouths shut and remain silent. This can build up anger, resentment, and disconnect. Be aware that conflict is an element of effective teams.

Indicate 7: Creativity Is Inhibited

Being able to create something new or unique requires a different way of thinking, and some risk taking. Sometimes, under the false assumption that safety is the best option, creativity gets suppressed. To prevent this from happening, begin thinking about what the worst possible outcome in the event of taking a risk.

Indicator 8 The loudest voices get All the Attention

People are different. Some are extremely extroverted and outgoing, whereas others are more contemplative and introverted. There are many different traits in a group and you have to find the conditions as a leader for your team of hearing the voices of all and not just the most loud and loudest, but heard.

The bottom line is that teams are able to produce amazing results. Often, tiny adjustments can make a difference in the results you get together as a group.
